Jake Burrows
President
Jake is a fourth year working on his bachelors in Mechanical Engineering and minoring in Intelligent Robotic Systems! With two engineering internships under his belt and countless projects, Jake prioritizes gaining valuable experience to build his technical and professional skills. Outside of academics, he enjoys competitive robotics, weightlifting, bowling, and photography. If you ever see him biking around campus say hi! Jakes excited to be ASME’s President this year and is ready to do everything he can to bring fantastic events to ASME’s student body!
Ethan Cohen
Vice President
Ethan is a third year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Central Florida. He has been involved with ASME since his freshmen year and has previously served as the volunteer chair. Ethan participates in many volunteering, social, and fundraising events as well as a few of the projects. Ethan came up with his own idea for a project named “Robot Rhapsody” where he and a team of ASME members would create an animatronic puppet show window display. This project ended up winning the first-place title in a project showcase it was entered in. You may also see Ethan around campus as a resident assistant or an undergraduate admissions ambassador giving tours around campus. Ethan is interested in the theme park industry with a hope to one day be a part of the animatronics team at a theme park. In his free time he likes to skateboard, listen to music, or watch movies.
Annie Hillis
Secretary
Annie is the ASME Secretary at UCF. She is a third year Mechanical Engineering student with a minor in General Computer Science. She’s been a member of ASME since freshman year and her favorite project so far is Robot Rhapsody. Annie aims to design HVAC systems for buildings making sure they meet LEED certification. When not at UCF, Annie likes to play with animals (especially her dogs), read books, dance to music, drawing, and experimenting in the kitchen.
Logan McBride
Treasurer
Logan is the treasurer for ASME at UCF. He enrolled into UCF in the fall of 2021 in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Logan is currently a Junior and has participated in many of the projects that ASME offers. He has a strong interest in the manufacturing and design aspects of mechanical engineering and hopes to put those skills to use in the automotive field. Logan is a current member of the UCF Marching Knights, and one of his favorite hobbies is building computers.
Santiago Calderon-Rueda
Internal Projects
Santiago is a sophomore at UCF pursuing a Bachelors in mechanical engineering at UCF and is the internal projects chair for ASME at UCF. He is in charge of creating and managing intriguing projects that will engage and create technical skills for ASME members. He enjoys working out, running, playing video games, and doing side projects. Currently he is doing research at the Interfacial Transport lab at UCF under Dr. Putnam.
John Morris
External Projects
John is the External Projects Chair for ASME at UCF. He is responsible for coordinating the external projects such as Senior Design eHPVC, IAM3D, and SDC. John transferred to UCF from Seminole State College in 2023, and he is currently a Junior in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He enjoys working hands-on with ASME’s projects, and he was an active participant in last year’s IAM3D drone design competition. This year, John is excited to get external projects up and running, and he looks forward to seeing everyone participate – with an emphasis on learning new skills! John believes in having a well-balanced life, particularly in the aspects of eating and sleeping. Outside of his studies, John enjoys playing the piano, singing, recreational tree-climbing, and hiking.
Tori Phillips
External Outreach
Tori Phillips is the current External Outreach chair for ASME at UCF. She is responsible for managing ASME’s connections with companies and professionals. She will be using those connections to organize speakers, tours and career fairs! She is a junior studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Intelligent Robotic Systems. In her free time she enjoys going to the beach, hanging with friends and reading a good book. Her goal is to allow students to build connections that will help them become successful engineers!
Lily Yarbrough
Workshops
Lily is the workshops chair for ASME at UCF. In this position, her focal point is on developing learning opportunities such as, but not limited to, technical skills and professional development workshops for members of the club. Lily is in her fourth year at UCF, as well as her fourth year in the club, and is pursuing a B.S. in Computer Engineering. With this degree, she aspires to step forth into the realm of space technology as well as continue prospering her skills in PCB design. Some of Lily’s hobbies include gaming, game design, reading, learning, and most importantly, sleeping.
Sarah Ward
Social Media
Sarah is the social media chair of ASME at UCF. Sarah is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and has been involved with ASME since her freshman year. She is responsible promoting upcoming events and sharing memories from club activities on the UCF ASME social media platforms. When Sarah has free time she enjoys adventuring, painting, going to theme parks, and spending quality time with her friends. Sarah hopes to go into the themed entertainment industry and involve herself in organizations that can better the future of young engineers. Sarah is dedicated this year to make ASME a better club for everyone to pick up new skills, meet amazing people, and have a chance to make lasting memories.
Dhruv Tejusinghani
Marketing
Dhruv Tejusinghani is a Freshman, Mechanical Engineering major, and will graduate in 2027 as of this time. He enjoys a variety of things including design management, as well as anything flushing out his creative side.
Mark Salemme
Fundraising Chair
Mark is the fundraising committee chair, he’s a 3rd year mechanical engineering major with a passion for the sales side of engineering. He is a Resident Assistant on campus and loves working out at the RWC to stay fit. Last year he worked on Robot Raphsody and fell in love with ASME.
Maria Garcia
Events and Development
Maria is the Events and Development Chair for ASME at UCF. Her responsibilities include organizing and coordinating events such as panels and career fairs, allowing students to practice and build professional skills. Maria is a Junior obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with plans to pursue a Masters degree. Maria enjoys baking, biking, listening to music, and reading. Maria’s goals include helping students expand their network and grow their knowledge of the many opportunities out there!
Maia Mikulcik
Volunteering
Maia is the Volunteer Chair for ASME at UCF. She is responsible for connecting ASME with the community and helping members gain volunteer hours. She is a sophomore studying Mechanical Engineering and is in the Burnett Honors College at UCF. The majority of her free time is spent playing Ultimate Frisbee as she is on the UCF Sirens’ Women’s Ultimate frisbee team. If she’s not studying or doing homework she is probably throwing a frisbee. Maia is really excited to help ASME members give back to the community through many volunteering events throughout the year!
David Tome
Socials
David is serving as the Socials Chair for ASME at UCF. His responsibilities include organizing and executing social events, increasing student involvement, retaining member interest, and fostering a dynamic and welcoming environment for all to enjoy. He is currently a Sophomore working towards a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and plans to pursue a masters degree in the future. Outside of his academics, he enjoys chess, drawing, 3D printing, going to the gym, and playing club volleyball. David strives to create opportunities for all members to connect, collaborate, and make long-lasting relationships outside of lecture halls.
